One of the few remaining small-scale cottage colonies that were once common on Cape Cod, Collins Cove offers a unique history. The cottages were built in the 1920s out of material found on the grounds as well as lumber from the former Chatham Naval Air Station. The main house, now known as “Number One” was the home of the Collins family for several generations. The five waterfront cottages were built first, followed by the sixth that sits slightly further back from the water.

Today, the cottage colony remains a true family business, cared for with love by the current generations. Year after year, guests return to find comfort in the seemingly unchanging landscape. The same over-sized petunias and other flowers flourish by the docks, and the same friendly faces return to enjoy a summer by the sea.
